MLM Lead Generation – Training For Network Marketing

Training for network marketing is a sticky subject.

Why? Because most people don’t know where to begin.

Most people who first start off in MLM/network marketing aren’t sure how to generate their own leads. In fact, most people are often told that the best way to build an MLM business is to simply buy a list of leads and “dial for dollars” This is absolutely the wrong marketing training for network marketing.

For all of you that were absolutely mortified at the prospect of cold calling for the rest of your MLM business career, I am here to tell you that the advice “dialing for dollars” from a list provided by a leads broker is probably some of the worst advice, and at best, is only a short term strategy for building your business until you can master MLM lead generation.

You won’t get this type of training for network marketing from me.

In fact, my reputation as a leader and multiple 6 figure income earner in the MLM industry was only established after I gave up on “buying leads” and decided to generate my own MLM leads.

The basic idea behind MLM lead generation is that you have ultimate control over your marketing and therefore the type of lead you spend your time taking to. If you have been calling leads that you bought, you’ll already know that often times, these leads are not very targeted and have often been offered a free gift to be on this list – not your ideal candidates.

So today, I wanted to start you off by giving you the top 3 tips that I consider a necessity for kicking off your own MLM lead generation campaign. These things I am about to teach you are highly effective in this industry and you should start implementing these tactics straight away.

Tip # 1 – Start with a branded website. This is a website where you showcase yourself and what you have to offer your prospect.

A big mistake people make is that they rely solely on the replicated website provided by the company they work for and this company website leads with the features of their company. Now your company is important, no doubt, but first off you need to establish a relationship with your prospect and this relationship isn’t going to be build on your company’s merits – it will be built on what you can offer them.

Once they know about you, then they’ll want to know more about your company. Remember the old saying “People buy you.” It’s true and the more of “you” in your marketing, the better.

Tip # 2 – Be constantly learning about the different ways to generate leads online. Now I love marketing offline as well, don’t get me wrong, but with the array of different ways to market online, make sure you become a student of online marketing and get your hands on anything you can find to help you along the way (we have a great free video training that you can check out.)

There are countless ways to generate your own MLM leads online some of which are Pay Per Click marketing (AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing, etc…) but you can also take advantage of these PPC’s engines “content network” The content network is a little easier to use if you’re just starting out and you can find out more if you go to the PPC sites themselves.

You can also use strategies like article marketing, free press releases and search engine optimization, eBay marketing and Craigslist. The best part is, if you’re not sure how to do these things, you can always hire inexpensive outsources to help you out or you can plug into products and get your lead generation going.

Tip # 3 – Automate your followup. Once you’ve driven people to your website using the various ways we talked about above, make sure you to get your prospects on some type of list. To do this offer them something for free in exchange for their email address. This means that you will be able to follow up with them automatically.

Write a sequence of emails that go out at a set interval and you can be constantly dripping on this prospect list. Remember what they say about 7 to 12 contacts – “your prospect will need at least 7 to 12 exposures to make a decision.” Well now you can do this automatically. This tactic alone has revolutionized our business and it can yours too.

Make sure that the autoresponder system you use will allow you to write your own customized messages and broadcast to the list whenever you have news you’d like to share. Often MLM companies will give you some sort of autoresponder system, unfortunately you won’t be able to use it with your own branded website and you’ll only be allowed to use the company messages.

Remember, you want to brand yourself first, so if you find yourself in the above case scenario do yourself a favor and get an autoresponder that will work in conjunction with your own personal website that you can use to brand yourself – a very powerful tool in your own MLM lead generation funnel.

With all of these tips working in conjunction with one another, you will see how can quickly and efficiently build you a wildly successful MLM lead generation program. Follow these 3 tips and your quality of prospect and your closing ratio will skyrocket!
